Why Do Everyone Need Sauna Rooms?

Like every human, you always want to lead a long, happy life. Now it’s time to start sweating. With the sauna rooms, you can make it happen. If you’re unsure about a sauna, how it exactly works, please read on the post below for more information. Here are a few reasons to consider installing sauna rooms at home:

Understanding a Sauna –

Do you have an idea that sauna is the ancient Finnish word for “bathhouse”? However, a sauna room is a small room or building where you can get to experience both hot and dry heat sessions. Generally, the room gets heated in between 70 to 100°C (158 to 212°F). It will help you induce great amounts of heavy sweating.

In a sauna room, the steam is produced because of pouring ladles of water over the rocks. This improves the entire temperature and minimizes humidity level, making the heat comfortable. Whether you choose a conventional sauna that utilizes wood, gas or electric stoves or an infrared cabin, sitting in an sauna at least once a week will help you invigorate both your body and soul.

Why Do You Install Sauna Room at Home?

Live Longer Life –

According to a study among 2,300 Finnish sauna enthusiasts, taking a sauna session was observed to lower the risk of cardiovascular disease by around 50% and mortality from cardiac events by 65%. It was found that the overall death rate was reduced. In an average, those who used the sauna on a daily basis or every other day lived much longer than those who had only a session on a weekly basis.

Cleanup of Skin –

It’s great news, if you’re prone to acne. Though a sauna offers deep sweating, it will help you remove dead skin cells and clean up pores from inside out. The bacterial and toxin buildup can cause bad skin; which get flushed from the epidermis and removed along with the sweat. Hence, sweating regularly is an ideal way to ward off sagging skin and wrinkles as it can prevent collagen breakdown.

Toxic Waste Removal –

Do you want to go for a painless body detox? If yes, taking a sauna session can do it! More often, people don’t sweat regularly or deeply enough that can lead to toxin buildup inside their body.

The sweat you produce daily helps in cooling off the body and is primary produced from water. However, a sauna session can lead to deep sweating that can release mineral like nickel, mercury, lead, zinc and copper as well as toxic waste materials from your body.

Stress Relief –

Are you feeling stressed out? If yes, then a hot sauna can do wonders. Sitting in a sauna makes you feel relaxed. After that, it’s quite warm to do anything else. In fact, sauna rooms help the body to switch off the flight or fight mode by the release of endorphins. This way, you allow your body to de-stress, rest and heal.

The best part of a sauna session is that you will get ultimate level of relaxation, which will last long after exiting the sauna and helping you calmer all day.

How Do You Design Your Sauna Rooms?

A traditional Finnish sauna is pretty inexpensive and can be built to fit any surrounding or space perfectly. Obviously, the size really matters for the installation of sauna rooms. Sizing depends on number of people using them at the same time. Here are a few important things to consider for planning sauna rooms at homes:

Bench –

The top bench must be at least 20” wide and 36” from the floor. You should place benches on wall supports and legs. It’s recommended to have 2” x 4” cedar with ½” space between the boards. The cubic footage of sauna rooms plays a key role in determining the capacity of heating unit.

Ventilation

Ventilation is really important in a sauna room to deliver utmost satisfaction and inherent pleasure. When proper ventilation is in place, it’ll speed up heating the sauna room again. Shortage of air leads to inadequate ventilation or poor management of ventilation which will ensure uncomfortable feeling. As a result, you’ll feel difficulty in breathing or skin burning sensations.

The sauna room has expanded hot air that has proportionately less oxygen than the denser surrounding atmosphere. Most sauna bathers experience faintness unless the air is changed on a regular basis.

A specific amount of fresh air enters every time the door is opened; but it’s insufficient. Generally, two ventilators should be installed in the walls of sauna room. However, the inlet is present below the heating unit whereas the outlet is on the opposite side, i.e. on the ceiling or below the ceiling.

Room Size -

It’s suggested to keep your room much smaller than larger. Allow for the depth of 19” each bench. Then, plan on the space of your hot tub heater; including an area of 4” around the front and two sides for the fence guard.

Remember that, a smaller heater will be perfect for a smaller room. You should include smaller circuit breakers in your panel to deliver much efficient heating.

Important Note –

You use upper and lower benches to sit and lay down in your sauna room. More often sauna enthusiasts stretch out on the upper and lower benches. Your sauna room should have a main bench wall of 6 feet or longer.

Heater Size –

Northern Lights sauna rooms are available pre-sized with superior-standard heater for the cubic space of 7’ ceiling. If you’ve a large room in your home, you can consider installing two heaters.

How Do You Plan for the Layout of Sauna Room?

Plan your room size.

Sauna rooms are available in different shapes and sizes. If you enjoy lying down in your sauna, you should let 6’ in at least one direction.

Plan the door location and its swing direction.

The door of sauna room should swing out of the room not into the room. If you want to have a better layout of benches, put your door and sauna heater on a long wall right next to each other.

Plan the location of sauna heater.

Place the heater preferably near the door wall. Keep in mind that, cool air draws from the door naturally along the floor to heater – where it will be heated and will rise to the ceiling.

Plan the layout of the bench.

The normal bench depth is 20” and its height should be either 36” for upper bench or 19” high for the lower bench. You can go for custom sizes. You should sit and lie down in the sauna and include maximum bench as the space allows. But remember that, upper bench will be the warmer one among st all benches.
